Julia will be running a drypoint printmaking workshop on Saturday 20th June at St. Peter’s Church, Worfield.
Drypoint is an exciting and versatile type of intaglio printmaking where marks are incised onto the plate rather than etched with chemicals. Rich lines with velvety textures can be achieved with a scribe and areas of tone produced by texturing the plate.
This course is suitable for beginners or those wanting to build on their skills. You will learn how to prepare a plate for drypoint printing, practise mark making to create texture and tone, then apply those marks to your own design. You will work on an A5 plate, learn about soaking paper, inking your plate and print a small edition of prints on an etching press. Cost £40 (Includes a practice plate and an A5 plate for your print, paper for printing a small edition of prints and a selection of tools available to use during the workshop)
To allow for more time to learn about drypoint printmaking you can prepare an A5 image to work with.
All proceeds from this workshop will go to St. Peter’s Church
Under 18s will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian
